Devotional: A moment of pause

imageLife is full of moments that draw on our emotions. Pleasant, easy to explain moments bring us joy, laughter, and even put a smile on our faces. These feel good moments don’t require and thought. We just accept them. We just pass them off as if we are entitled to them, and so many more just like them. But when trouble comes, we sit flustered and confused. We ask God why. Why God, do you allow us to have such pain that seems to be without end? Why can’t you let me stop crying Lord?? The real question that should be asked is this: Why can’t God be God? He created the universe, and everything in it. That includes us.

God loves us so much that he creates and holds the details together for us. From the beginning of earth to the rapture. God’s has everything handled: Our hearts, minds, joy and pain. He knows what is best for us and we to go through to grow through.

Lord, thank you for this day and both the joy and pain that it may bring. I trust in You, and the plan you have for my life.

Scripture Reading:
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. 14 I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.” – Jer. 29:11-14 NLT
