Whatever we do in life occupationally, if we are serious, we do it at a high level. We lose ourselves in the details. Countless hours are spent working to get things just right. No step is missed in an effort to be the very best. Great pride is taken in an effort to make a prominent name for ourselves. The same can be said for the enemy. He only has one, singular job: To prowl around looking for who he can destroy (1 Pet. 5:8). Please believe that he’s very good at what he does. So much so that even the most seasoned veteran Christian can easily miss an attack. Ending up in such a whirlwind of chaos that it could take days, months, or longer to discover what happened. We need to remember that the tactics are subtle. They come from the most unexpected places and in the most in unsuspecting ways. We need to be vigilant. Ever on guard, ready for every scheme, tactic, and disguise. We can no longer be shocked or afraid when the attack comes, because it coming. The enemy roars like a lion, but he is not a lion. Theres only one. The Lion of Judah, and he’s on our side, protecting us. If we resist devil, he will flee (James 4:7). The enemy will be gone for a season, but he’ll be back. Stay on the lookout.
1 Pet. 5:8 NIV – 8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
Jame 4:7 KJV – Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Lord, I thank you for alerting me to the tricks of the enemy. Guard my heart and mind. Place a hedge of protection around me, my family, and everything I hold dear. In Jesus name, amen.
