Experiences make our journey in life fun. Joy makes our experiences brighter.
My sons have all asked me “When you were my age, what did you want to be when you grew up?” I imagine my answer varied as I attempted to match my memory with their age. As I look back, I wish I wanted to be joyful when I got older. Jobs change. Your interests do too. Circumstances and situations have a tendency to suck the life out of you I feel you let them. As I’ve grown, I realized that joy is a key component in everything you want to do. It is essential to even wanting to do. Joy is that state of being that lives at the core of who you are. It’s built on your view of God, and belief in his love for you. There’s a choice about how you view God: Limited or limitless. This determines the amount of work He can do for you, and you for him. Your view of God is directly related to your belief in His willingness to love and bless you. It’s like a constants in math. God’s love for us and willingness to do great things for us is constant. Our perspective and belief in Him varies. They both grow with experience in God. As your experience grows, so does your joy. Keep seeking God and you will gain more and more experience. Through those experiences, you will gain more and more Joy. Experiences make our journey in life fun. Joy makes our experiences brighter.
Zeph. 3:17 NLT
For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears.[fn] He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
Lord, thank you for allowing me to experience you. I take the limits and boundaries off of You. Have Your way in my life. I am expecting radically joyful experiences with You. In Jesus name, amen.
